NEWS:  More Zimbabwean women dying in childbirth.  “We must always remind ourselves that a maternal death is an avoidable death.  We know that 15% of all pregnancies will face a life-threatening complication,” said Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF) Women’s Health Advisor Kara Blackburn. “HIV and Aids are the leading causes of disease and death of mothers in [Zimbabwe],” she said.   Complete Story

 

NEWS:  Typhoid Fever Outbreak in Zimbabwe. Zimbabwe is reporting up to 50 cases of typhoid per day and has treated more than 1,500 people in an outbreak blamed on poor water and sanitation facilities, the health minister is report.  Complete Story
