Author Mary Dolkas is a Women's Ministry and Leadership Training
volunteer for ROCK of Africa Mission. She has a passion
for helping women in Africa grow into a deep relationship with
the Lord and become women of significance in their families and
communities.
In
her book
Knowing God: According to
His Word, Mary takes the reader on an exciting journey to
a deep understanding of God as He reveals through His Word, the
Bible.
When it comes to knowing God, most people fall into one of
three categories.
1) They know God through
conviction and personal experience, believe the Holy Bible is
his written word, and do their best to live accordingly.
2) They re sure God must be real and think heaven
probably is, but they can t imagine hell is an actual place,
reserved for those who don t believe.
3) Their
version of God is good enough, and therefore they have no need
for the Bible s version of who God is. They re confident that
actually knowing God personally is virtually impossible and that
anyone who thinks so must be crazy and completely out of touch
with reality. For this last group, the Bible being real seems as
likely as the world coming to an end tomorrow at noon.
Regardless of where you are, Knowing God offers ideas that will
spur your curiosity, encourage your own personal spiritual
growth, and lead you to a stronger personal relationship with
the God of the Bible, who says that those who search him with
their whole heart will indeed find him. In a world that is
filled with more unknowns than not, we can still find great
comfort and strength in words that have withstood the test of
time. Indulge yourself, let go of misconceptions and
preconceived notions, and allow yourself to personally embrace
the God of the Bible. You can know God today!
